the best advice I got from my preceptor was that it's okay to talk to doctors and patients like they're someone you just ran into on the street because they're real people. no customer service voice

I’m 5 weeks into orientation, PICC team called me at week 3 and asked for an update on the pt before they came to do a procedure and I told them “yeah he’s doing ok, he got some rest last night…” just stalling and trying to remember wtf I should tell them. They were like OK and?? Shit was so embarrassing
