This is why they hate temu. Bought a set of chairs 4 for $60. Went to a store and it was $60 for 1 chair, exactly the same as I bought from Temu.

That’s why I think paying someone who makes things by hand are what people need to do now. It’s a little more expensive but it’s quality.

Right now with all companies no longer putting price tags on items and marking prices how they see fit is crazy.

I figured out those “sales” or not actually sales! They mark them up higher when they go on sale so you think it’s a deal but it’s normal price. I now cross reference prices

People forget that they hold the power, literally. We stop consuming these products then what do you think the companies are going to do?

It’s hard to not replace stuff when broken. Companies don’t really offer parts anymore, and if they do, it’s not for long, and cost too much. It’s usually cheaper to replace with new once broken

start composting. look into your local city and see if they have a compost drop off. that will turn food waste into good soil without filling the landfill

I was watching an unboxing video of some advent calendars last month and you know, you pay whatever for the calendar and the value is supposed to much higher. We'll, one girl was showing it, how much she paid for it and telling how much each product actually retailed for. My bf was apparently eavesdropping 🙄😂 and said, "it just shows you how much they could be selling it for". My brain hadn't gotten there yet, he was right though.

There’s a different Netflix documentary. I don’t know if they still have it, but it broke down recycling. Another episode broke down, vape pens and the counterfeit make up

I worked for a fashion brand. We probably made the most genuine attempt at sustainability through product but the consumers did not show up in the numbers we needed.

I went to Macy's and a pair of Tommy Hilfiger boots where 100. I then went to the bargain store, sames boots are $170 and on sale for $100... I thought what a deal. 🙃

as a former retail associate, those are not sales. the true sales are when they go on clearance or you buy directly from the manufacturer. most of the products at big sale events (ex: black Friday) aren't even our everyday products. we get "special" products a few days before. then most of those products are returned a few after they don't work anymore.
