![The top United Nations human rights watchdog ordered Venezuela to avoid destroying electoral tally sheets, as it investigates allegations that current President Nicolás Maduro stole the July election. Maduro claims he won a third six-year term to start in January, but electoral authorities have so far refused to publish voting records to back that. Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado tells ABC News Live, “The whole world knows that Maduro lost. We won by a landslide.” Opposition candidate Edmundo González has been recognized as Venezuela's president-elect by the United States. “If [Maduro] prolongs the agony, we will see 2,3,4 even more million Venezuelans leaving our country in the next month,” Machado told Diane Macedo. “If we want to solve the migration issue that hurts us so bad, we need to go to the root of the problem.” The U.N. estimates 7.7 million Venezuelans have left and more than half a million of them have fled to the United States.
