@thrivingonplants: Herb oil 🍃 If you want to elevate any dish or perhaps impress family & friends, having some homemade green oil around is a simple way to do just that! Ingredients Fresh herbs (basil, chives, parsley...) Neutral oil (I use avocado oil) Method: 1. Wash your herbs then pick all the leaves off the stems. 2. Blanch for about 10-15 seconds then add directly into an ice bath until cooled down. 3. Squeeze out as much of the water as you can then transfer to a blender. 4. Add in the oil and blend well until combined. Note: atm I use a 1:3 ratio of herbs to oil, in this case I had about 33g of Thai basil so added in 100g of oil. You can change it up depending on how subtle or strong you prefer it. 5. Pass through a cheesecloth or coffee filter and leave it to strain on its own. I had neither on hand (lol) so I just popped a nut milk bag over a sieve and strained it twice. 6. Transfer into a squeeze bottle, jar or container and keep in the fridge for 1-2 weeks.
