A house I wanted 5 years ago was 1300$ a month. Now it’s 2800. I guess I’ll rent forever

Can you send this to my father in law so he will quit telling us to buy a house because “his mortgage is less than our $1500 rent”?

I feel gypped. I turned 18 in March 2020 after covid lockdowns. I never had a chance for the good housing prices (and I went to college)

My in-laws bought a fixer upper in 2010 for $89,000. An identical (and also fixer upper) house two doors down from them sold last year for $449,000. Make it make sense.

Need the housing market to cool down it’s still super high even when the federal reserve cut interest rates I need a crash or a cool down but that cooldown may be the slowest thing I’ll ever witness

I got very lucky didn’t make a ton of money in 2011 but had great credit and qualified for a loan, we purchased a home on a short sale and the payment is 856 a month.

Purchased a house in Southern CA in 2012. It was a short sale. The most stressful yet smartest thing I’ve ever done. We have over $300,000 equity and mortgage is under $800 but prob be here forever.

A house on the corner of my street is listed at $1mil and it’s the same corner I saw two police chases end at and an impaired driver hit a parked car and end up on their lawn

I moved to a town with literally not even a 1/10 of the population of my old city, away from all of my family, just so I could buy a house. I still pay $1,500+ a month for it and its just a 2bd1bth 😐

Apparently I was supposed to buy a house when I was 10. Mortgages are very high still trying tho. During COVID didn’t have the funds to buy and now I do and it’s tough

I could afford a nicer house when I was 16 making 50k than I can now at 21 making over 100k

Exactly. 800 credit score and 70k single income, 130k joint income, and where I live we can afford absolutely nothing
