@theprecolumbiangentleman: Exploring a lost and buried Maya temple in the jungles of Guatemala near Tikal. This structure was built around 700 AD and was part of a palace and home to a king. It is still buried and unexcavated so we had to climb a hill created by the debris and dirt of 1300 years to enter the top opening. The front room has collapsed leaving the second chamber which was the throne room exposed. I was shown this site by one of the greatest guides that ever worked in these jungles, Antonio Ortiz Jr, before he passed away. I have videos posted of what the inside looks like! Fyi, these are special and spiritual places to the modern Maya who live in the region. We took nothing and left it just as we found it.
