as a plus sized person, i know full well my weight would sometimes be the reason why i get uncomfortable. i bring my own extender because i KNOW i need it.

I worked in AC interior maintenance. Belts are always fully replaced in case of any problems, every plane should always have at least 5 belt extenders and I almost never seen less

aircraft mechanic here, we replace the seat belts not cut them😅. different planes might have different seats that come with different lengths though

the shortening belts makes no sense- they just replace the whole thing once it’s too beaten up. it’d cost more work and money to cut them and sew them back than throwing the thing away & replacing it

They’re short cause you fly southwest which has the shortest seatbelts 39 inch.

Fly ryanair seats are massive and belts are extra loose trust me , also insted of having to be nervous and ask for an extender there is usually one laying around from past people 😊
