So actually the correct way of connecting it is to do red to dead battery, red to good battery, then black to good battery and then black to dead battery, this will keep the battery safe and healthy..

isnt it bad for a bike battery to jump ot with a car? i could be wrong but i remember someone telling me to do it as last resort

Jumping isn’t entirely healthy should get into habit of using battery chargers for these things if possible jumper cables are more of a emergency tool

truck doesn't have to be on, battery stores a charge so hook the cables up without cranking the vehicle

My bike stays outside and when it gets below freezing i pull the battery but i will put the battery back if the weather turns good. The battery tender i have will recharge a dead battery.
