All of the violence against Ani is also written for laughs. Seeing it in a theater was jarring as a FSSW. And the ending scene was WILD

I saw an interesting review which read the final scene as Anora making sure she didn't owe him anything. A little gesture of self-defense / taking back control after she'd been screwed over so royally

yup and the problem is the ending simply introduces this huge idea without taking the time to explore the reasons why. it just feels cheap and as a result leans into stereotypes.
