My mom taught me to yell “mom” if I was ever in trouble. Even if she wasn’t there, she drilled it into me. “Yell mom” & “If you’re in trouble or lost, find a mom” This lesson saved me more than once.

as a mom of an 18 year old ths made me cry bc I didn't even realize I still do this. the last time I heard MY child scream mom he smashed his face riding his bike and I'll never forget the fear I felt

My husband doesn’t understand this. We have 2 kids. We live near a park. The other day I heard a child scream “mommy” and went running. My kids were with me. It doesn’t matter if they aren’t my babies

Im a 14 year old teen and I saw a little boy (not older then 4) and he yelled,,MOM SIS DAD BROTHER” crying were the food vendor at the 4th floor and I was at the firs floor in a store.I never ran that fast in my life I tripped twice and got back up and I was on one knee pretending that I was his older sister and I picked him in my arms and tried comforting him.Then I started asking like what his name or parents/brother/sister,a phone number of his parent’s/brother/sister and he did knew (1/3)

It’s like something in our brain changes when we hear “mom”. My brain gets alert no matter if it’s from a grown person or a child saying it.

Had a kid in the store I work in yell: MOM! MOOOM! The other day! All the women stopped dead in their tracks and looked the way the kid was yelling! The mom was right there but it was so cool to see!

Honestly until I saw this trend was when I realized I do indeed look when someone says mom and anytime I’d say “mom” to my mom in a store other women would look too

For me when someone yells mom I’m only 15 and I still look at check on them all because my baby cousin got assaulted at a park so now every time I hear a kid yell mom I look back even if they yell dad
