@jeeves_ny: This is a 4th generation dry cleaners guide to remove butter, oil, grease, and any fat based stain: 1) Pretreat with a surfactant like dish soap or liquid laundry detergent (2-3 drops at max) 2) For larger stains try diluting 2-3 drops in some water and spraying on. You don't want to have oversudsing issues.  3) Inspect before tumble drying.
