@buildconfidentfamilies: Many parents worry that there is a problem when their toddler has problems separating at preschool. But I want to tell you that this is completely okay and absolutely normal! In fact, it shows that your child has a normal, healthy attachment to you, their primary attachment figure. When you leave your toddler at preschool to begin with it is normal for them to feel or acti differently while they figure out the new environment. There are still things you can do to help them feel confident as they transition to their new preschool: ➡️ Help them feel more independent by letting their natural assertiveness blossom. Let them make independent decisions when they can - like what clothes to wear, shoes to put on, how much to eat etc. ➡️ Let them see that you are there for them when needed and step back when they don't need you. ➡️ Validate their feelings when they struggle at drop off time and let them know you'll be back. Never just sneak out as this can increase their anxiety. #separationanxiety #preschooldropoff #toddlertips #parentinghelp #earlychildhood #parentinghack #gentleparenting #parenting101 #raisingtoddlers
