haven't seen it yet but sounds like a missed opportunity, if handled well could've been a way to illustrate elphaba's proximity to privilege while foreclosed to it, something mixed ppl often endure

Idk if it’s just me, but i forgot about dulsi bear literally the second after she appeared. She has no impact on the movie and isn’t mentioned outside the throwaway line that she looked after Elphaba

I’d argue it doesn’t, given irl history, particularly in the antebellum and Jim Crow south of white children being raised by black nannies who grew up to be just as racist as everyone else.

People also miss the duli bear was also nessa's nurse and she is apathetic at best to the animals plight. She wasn't othered in the same way and so can't relate.

I honestly don't see that as her motivation. she never brings up dulcibear or is shown to remember her much. we just see she has compassion towards suffering animals cause she sees them as equals
