@cbcnews: Following Donald Trump's threat to slap 25 per cent tariffs on Canadian and Mexican products coming over the U.S. border, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland reminded the U.S. president-elect that Canada is the largest market for U.S. goods. #CdnPoli #DonaldTrump #Tariffs #Canada #CBCNews
People are saying the U.S. isn’t going to have friends after all this. They will. They’ll have friends. It just won’t be countries we should be friends with.

Exactly. Canada and Mexico are actually the U.S. biggest trading partners. All 3 need each other but the U.S. actually depends on Canada and Mexico more than those 2 countries depend on the U.S.

there isn’t a single thing that America NEEDS from Canada and if she isn’t careful we will just get these resources from elsewhere. Imagine if Canada didn’t have the US to prop up thier economy

If Elon Musk is able to save the country Billions, all those things will be easily produced within the US. It is not as difficult for the US to create a closed economy as it is for Canada.

The US will never be energy independent. It’s a political term, not a literal one. The oil in the continental US is too light. We HAVE to buy foreign oil. Also, our grids aren’t big enough.

Anybody think of the trucking industry. My son drives 4 nights a week into Canada with a tractor trailer loaded and picks up a trailer in Canada to bring back. He’s not the only one.
