@speaker.abbas.movement: Today, I welcomed Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, Mr. Zhang Qingwei, along with the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Yu Dunhai, and other Chinese government officials, when they visited my office in Abuja. I noted that the Nigeria-China Parliamentary Friendship Group is the most active and beneficial among the over 70 parliamentary friendship groups in the House. The Nigeria-China relationship is characterized by mutual respect, collaboration, and shared goals. This partnership has yielded significant results in areas like trade, infrastructure, technology, and culture. China is Nigeria's largest trading partner, with bilateral trade exceeding $13 billion annually. I commended China's commitment to the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), which was recently attended by President Tinubu. As the largest legislative body in Nigeria, the House is honored to host the Chinese delegation, reflecting the growing friendship between the two countries. This visit presented an opportunity to further strengthen ties between the Nigerian National Assembly and the Chinese Parliament. The House is interested in learning from China's legislative experience, particularly in areas like processes, institutional strengthening, and socio-economic development.
