People definitely do not respect the seriousness of food allergies. I am allergic to eggs: literally allergic to mayo. I explain my allergies when I eat out and when it comes it has mayo.

I'm appalled. I DO joke about my allergies, but there's still a level of respect. EI: a Peanut Butter cup is commonly called my "go-home" desert. Because if I eat it, I get to leave... 💀.

Maybe because mayonnaise isn't an ingredient? So you wouldn't be allergic to "mayo", you'd be allergic to something in mayo, like eggs for example

TODAY I had an anaphylactic reaction to a smoothie because they didn’t wash the blender and it had banana in it. HR was 168, hard to breathe, wheezing, etc. My inhaler saved me until an EpiPen!!

ate something and said I was having a reaction. husband started to laugh it off and looked up to see my face and neck covered in hives. allergies are not a joke. I have a fancy epi pen now 😔
