Sorry but air tickets are non-transferable. The person can request a refund but if they don’t show, that seat will get released 💁🏽♂️

If the ticket holder for the seat does not board the flight, they will let someone else purchase a ticket and board. I’ve had to do this and wait when weather got bad and flights were cancelled

If he has the ticket for that seat then it’s PAID for and can use the seat however he wants he’s not obligated to give that seat up.

Did the son pay for the earlier flight or just change the booking? Changing the booking doesn’t give them the seat. Even if the son bought a new ticket, the seat is in the son’s name so no transfers.

Okay. I’m a little confused. So originally their intent was indeed to hold one of the kids, bc the teenager was gonna have that seat. Since teenager didn’t take that flight. They used said seat for child. But now it’s an issue to hold child as originally planned bc he won’t sleep with out being in his car seat?

Uhm so if they didn’t pay for the seat and another passenger did pay for a seat that became available then just give it up. A child less than 2 years old doesn’t have a paid seat and is expected to be with mom or dad for the flight which is what they knew stepping board.

I have had airlines move my kiddo's seat elsewhere. we had our boarding pass and someone else shows up with the same seat #. we buy specific seats in specific arrangement for a REASON!!!
