Don't scavengers usually eat the tough parts the actual predators don't? I doubt they'd be finding enough intact carcasses with all their organs to live off, they'd have to hunt to get them

Having something like a big cat's tongue but even sharper could aide it in grating meat off of prey or carrion, no need for other teeth perhaps? Big cats already do this so it does work

according to evidence they did have incisors both upper and lower and their bite force is roughly the same as it's feline sabertooth counterpart

How many skull examples have we found? Is it possible that what we have observed is just a one off defect?

Maybe they used them to dig into trees and eat termites and other bugs. Maybe they even had a tongue similar to an anteater!

I wonder if maybe it could have also had a spiked tongue like a cat. I think palaeontology doesn’t really consider tongues enough, though that makes sense as they don’t fossilize

do a video on all the animals anthropologists believe we extinct through hunting during the prehistoric era, before we got sedentary and settled for agriculture.
