We already have a 14% Tariff. Google the Softwood Lumber Agreement. I am a lumber trader. I always say… you can move the Mill, but you can’t move where the tree grows. We are fcuked.

Let me be clear , I am not for these tariffs , but lumber is actually a business that can be done here in the USA without a ton of infrastructure

It's only a 25% tariff until Canada and Mexico start working to protect the US borders. I believe, once that starts happening the tariffs will be lifted.

Force us switch to modern materials such as steel and concrete. Which is cheaper and more durable, maintainable

My thinking is there are plenty of logging operations in the US, if there are tariffs on imported goods, more lumber will be produced in the US, which will increase jobs and pay in the US

I used to drive flatbed semis. The amount of lumber I hauled out of ports that was imported from other countries is insane. Not just from Canada, but from all over europe as well.

we import 6% of lumber from Canada. we get 24% from Sweeden & Finland and other countries like Chile and Brazil. if tariffs is 25%, Canada would have time lower prices or we could easily get from oth

Isn’t lumber considered an agricultural product? USMCA exempts agricultural products from tariffs.
