if its prismacolor pencils they have a soft core, so if they drop the inside would most likely just shattered, which is why I mostly just stop using them all together

prismacolors always have the flimsiest lead ever! I've ordered sets in the past that showed up with broken tips and tons breaks in the core. lovely piece tho! even with those blues on life support 😂

The lead on prismacolors are usually not lined properly and also the wood is thinner than other colored pencils. is all that you mentioned plus the constant sharpening of the pencil

Prismacolors have a high wax content in the led, makes super smooth blending, but super fragile. If you drop em or hold it too lightly the lead inside will break.
