Yeah, that first clip is not a tank. They are removing the muzzle brake from a m109a6 Paladin. Self propelled howitzer. No armor, no direct fire capability.

Not sure about the M1 but on our M60A3s, we had to remove the bore evacuator and clean the ports. This was back in the 80s.

Tank and howitzer are completely different I don’t know exactly how but if you call a howitzer a tank infront of a artillery unit they get very upset
