@pbsnews: President-elect Donald Trump announced Friday that Project 2025 co-author Russell Vought is his choice to lead the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). “Russ knows exactly how to dismantle the Deep State and end Weaponized Government, and he will help us return Self Governance to the People. We will restore fiscal sanity to our Nation, and unleash the American People to new levels of Prosperity and Ingenuity,” Trump said in a statement Friday. Project 2025 calls for dismantling agencies like the Department of Homeland Security and doing away with the Department of Education. “The whole notion of independent agencies is anathema from the standpoint of the Constitution,” Vought said on the Fox Business Network in June. The OMB works to execute the president’s vision and oversees federal agencies as well as the federal budget.
