So that way we're using pressure treated and you want it tight. so it'll dry out and leave gaps in the decking. or you can get it with 3/16 of a gap for composite decking because you know it's not going to be shrinking. Built a 24’x8’ PT porch last year with this, worked well. Yes it has a little gap after it dries out, about 1/4”. Holds just fine. Boards have not loosened up, no creaking, no splitting.
