For today’s episode, we are going to the world famous @gasolinegrill , a burger joint which had made waves in the foodie community and even named one of the best burgers in the world by Bloomberg. The original Gasoline is a tiny burger shack in a functioning gas station. Back in the day, this place was all about exclusivity. They flipped just 100 burgers a day, each one a buttery, juicy masterpiece that had people lining up around the block and people being lucky to get one. It wasn’t just a burger—it was the burger, crowned one of the best in the city and the world. But here’s the thing: when a place becomes that iconic, the pressure to expand is inevitable. And with new locations popping up all over Copenhagen, like a McDonalds franchise. So I of course had to retry it: I got the Cheeseburger, the OG. Let’s be clear—it’s still good. The patty has a decent char, the bun is soft and buttery, and the balance of flavors is there. But “good” isn’t what Gasoline Grill used to be about. This burger used to sing, and now it’s just kind of... there. A solid 8/10, but it won’t haunt my dreams the way it once did. And then there’s the Butterburger. Listen, unless you’re one of those rare souls who doesn’t love cheese (do those people even exist?), you can just skip this one. Theres no doubt where it gets its name from, with a huge dollop of butter on patty. Ill give it a 7.5/10. Gasoline Grill was once Copenhagen’s burger mecca, but since they’ve expanded to multiple locations, I can’t help but feel the quality’s slipped. Have you been?
