Yes! As a daycare provider, this works! Parents ask me all the time, "why do kids behave for you"? Because I am consistent and meet them at their level, play by my rules.

Solid advice for a typical toddler but what about when you have an asshole toddler? This would only provoke him.

Yes! I work in mental health, but neurotherapy. I get parents that absolutely let the kids run wild emotionally. The constant pleading.

As my 20 month old grandson grabs stuff we’ve “gently” said no and took away 500 times and stares us in the eye as he’s walking over to get it.

I just toured a daycare where they told me they can’t tell the kids no, don’t do any sort of time out or quiet time, can’t tell the kids to stop.

We were watching our nephew and he kept throwing his bottle so I put it away on the counter and he cried. I said to let him cry it out for a few minutes but my MIL caved in after 1 minute.
