@cambostock: That sucked and was awesome at the same time…🤪 We woke up on our rerouted trail as we continue off the PCT around a wildfire closure. We were warned that this section of the detour would be tough - lots of overgrown trail and steep and plentiful ascents and descents. All that and more proved very much true. We had some HUGE climbs and one in particular was almost vertical, overgrown and pretty sketchy. We also had multiple river crossings throughout the day, a run in with a bear and multiple brushes with stinging nettles. A hard but memorable day on trail. The views that came along with the climbs were truly spectacular and made up for the struggle, that’s for sure! Day 133 Distance hiked: 38.8km (24.1mi) Total distance hiked: 4,484.5km (2,785.5mi)
