$30 DIY STOOL 👇🏼 I saved myself $200 by DIY-ing this beautiful accent stool! want to save money and make one too?! here’s how! what you’ll need— 1 x 10 x 6’ knotty pine saw sand paper (60, 80, 120 grit) chisel hammer wire brush reciprocating saw (optional) wood glue 1/4 pegs matte polyurethane brushes stain of choice (first coat white wash, second coat early American) steps— STEP ONE: CUTTING THE WOOD Using my mitre saw I cut the 1 x 10 x 6’ pine into 2 - 24” pieces. Using a table saw or circular saw cut the legs piece into… 4x — 16” pieces (legs) 2x — 5” pieces (support) using your mitre saw cut a 5 degree angle on all 4 legs and 10 degree angle on the middle support pieces. STEP TWO: AGING THE WOOD using my chisel, hammer and wired brush I distress the wood to my liking. once I was happy with the distressing I sanded all the pieces with a 60 grit, then 80 grit and finished it off with 120 grit sandpaper. STEP THREE: BUILDING THE BENCH I created two “A” shape using 1 support piece and 2 legs. I secured the “A” frame with wood glued and 1/4 pegs. next I took my A” shaped legs and attach them to the bottom of the bench using glue, and the 1/4 pegs. STEP FOUR: STAINING first coat: white wash (with a paint brush) second coat: early American (with a paint brush and then rub it off with a rag) after the stain has cured for a day apply a coat of Minwax’s polyurethane. If you have any questions shoot me a message! I’m happy to help! follow @sagephillipshome for more diys, home decor and styling inspo! • • • #DIY #diyhomedecor #diyprojects #diyideas #diybig #diybench #homedecor #simplediy #diytutorial #diyfurniture #diyhome #homedecor #ilovediy #beforeafter
