It helps build the foundation for future milestones such as pivoting, belly crawling and crawling. From around 4 months your baby will be able to practice neck rotation to 90° to both sides like I do with this beautiful baby (she is 7 months in the video). If you notice that your baby prefers to go to one side more than the other, it’s a really good idea to practice it to the difficult side until it’s equally easy to both sides. If your baby is younger than four months, you can still do this exercise. However, you can’t expect your baby to look 90° to the side until 4-4,5 months. If I were at home playing with my own baby, I would probably do it face to face. The baby is turned away from me in the video so it’s easier for you to see.
