@minywander: 🇬🇷 Acropolis Visiting Tips ⬇️ Without a doubt the most famous attraction in Athens, Greece is the Acropolis - a set of ancient temples and monuments perched on top of a fortified hill with panoramic views of Athens. 🎟️ Tickets: Secure tickets in advance - Acropolis tickets are sold by time slots. You have to enter within 15 minutes of the chosen time. Popular times such as early mornings or sunsets sell out faster. Mobile tickets are available so you scan a code on your phone instead of printing tickets. 💶 €20, €10 from November 1 - March 30. 🕰️ When to go: Opening - Go as soon as the Acropolis opens to avoid crowds and the scorching heat. First slots are at 8 am. Sunset - another good option is to go in late afternoon when crowds have thinned. Last admission time will differ based on season. 🏺Acropolis Museum: Buy combined tickets with the Acropolis Museum. Contrary to the Acropolis itself, the museum is super modern, and houses artifacts found on and around the surrounding slopes of the Acropolis. I visited the museum during the hottest hours of the day to avoid the sun, and it was helpful to learn the history prior to going to the Acropolis. It’s a short 5 minute walk between the museum and the entrance to the Acropolis. 🕶️ What to pack: Bring water, sunscreen, a hat or sunglasses, comfortable walking shoes (see below). 👟 Shoes: The pavement was slippery and I almost fell several times, as did others around me. Bring shoes with a good grip, and be mindful of your steps. 🦽Accessibility: There is an elevator for wheelchairs. 🧍‍♂️Book a guide: The Acropolis is a massive archaeological site packed with history. Get the audio guide, or book a tour guide to learn in depth.
