I wear ear plugs a LOT cause I know repetitive/loud sounds trigger me so bad. Without, I’m gonna act short and overstimulated. It’s not the dogs’ fault, so that’s how it’s gotta be lol

i love my new clinic, we almost never restrain - it’s mainly o holding or distracting w/food, one of us lightly placing a hand on them OR sedation. its nice not being forced to pin animals down :-)

My boxer fell through a 1st floor window. Could have been so much worse, but he only had a HUGE gash on his front leg. The vet techs were sooo great with him. I got to watch through the window. (1)

I work with a car like that. Can't stand animals making noises in the back because it's "upsetting clients" and got mad at me for doing a necropsy during business hours because of the smell. 🤷

Genuine question, how do you handle aggressive cats when even seds don’t help? Some cats I swear are contortionists and scruffing is safest for us and them.

At times just switch restrainers! Especially if you're already stressed let someone else try sometimes that changes the whole game.

Im glad you’re not like that. My cat is a very scared baby but she lets me do basically anything even when it hurts. You just have to be nice to her and she doesn’t do anything

yes on advocating for fear free and having patience with your animals. However i hate blanket anti-scruff statements. fear free *until* myself or someone else is in danger of injury.
