I always get asked how to use a macro lens so here’s a quick tutorial! Tips below 👇🏻 1. ALWAYS ALWAYS wipe your lenses before doing anything 2. Make sure you put your macro lens on the right phone camera lens. If you have a pro max and you want to use 1x or 2x zooms on your phone for macro shots, you should put your macro lens in the bottom camera. I don't recommend using the wide angle mode on macro shots... but if you really wanna do it, then put the macro lens over the middle phone lens. I have an Iphone 14 pro max and I always just use 1× zoom level with my macro shots. 3. Find a stable surface to film on. Make sure your hand is on a stable surface if you are filming a product on your hand. Use a tripod if you have it!! If you have shaky hands best believe your macro lens will make it 10x more obvious haha You can see I used my pinky finger to stabilise my hand while holding the product here. You can also just put the subject on a surface so it doesn't move while filming! I just like incorporating movements on my shots that is why 90% of the time, the subject (product) is always on my hand. 4. Finding the optimal distance: if you are struggling to find the spot where your lens produces the clearest footage, then do what I did above. Slowly bring your subject towards your lens until your footage is crisp!!! Keep it there and start filming in that distance from now on. In time, you won't have to do this as much as you will have a fair idea on where to put your subiect when filming. 5. Don't get frustrated when all you get are blurry footages. Keep trying! Look for that sweet spot. Have a good lighting. Stabilise. Practice! I promise you will get it!! #ugctips #filmingtips #productvideography #ugcireland #ugceurope #macrolens
