@julia_wanders: When I was a teenager, I struggled with low self-esteem A LOT! It got to the point where I’d interpret someone simply looking at me on the street as confirmation that something was wrong with my face/hair/outfit. I was trapped in a cycle of constantly seeking evidence for my negative beliefs and, in doing so, reinforcing them. It took a while, but I’ve trained my brain to think differently; to interpret someone glancing at me in a positive light—maybe they like my outfit or think I have great energy. I also relized I had the power to choose whose opinions mattered to me. Instead of clinging to every critical or judgmental glance, I could focus on those who uplifted me, celebrated me, and saw the beauty I’d been too blind to see in myself 🥰 #selflove
