How does 3:1 at 30,000 feet equate to 90 miles of glide?! Isn’t that 90,000 feet divided by 5,280=17 miles. I hope you’re right though. Lol

APU can be turned usually below 20K feet(depends on A/C), if that goes out then the RAT can be deployed. 👍 At this day and age loosing both engines is far less likely than wining the lottery tbh 😭

Air Transat Flight 236 glided over 65 miles after running out of fuel from leak in fuel line. Landed safely saving 306 peeps back Aug 2001.

Another question to add to that. your 30,000 feet in the air and you have approximately 90miles to go, guaranteed to make it to the closest airport
