@charlotteljohnsonnn: As some of you have likely already seen, Snoop suffers from Canine Paroxysmal Dyskinesia. Unfortunately it’s not completely understood as yet and research is being done. It’s sort of like a seizure but he is fully conscious but can not control his movements and his whole body cramps and spasms. Each dog has different triggers. Snoops triggers are chemicals. Ie wormers. Flea treatments vaccines etc. and his biggest trigger is grain. This episode tonight was caused by eating two bits of kibble that are not grain free under the counter at work! Treatment is literally comfort. Reassure, swaddle in a blanket and a dark room. Once he comes out of it he starts to pant and drool. Sometimes he’s sick. Sometimes he’s not. He then regains control of his body and will have a good shake and return to his normal twatty self. As it’s a fairly new disease, I thought sharing may help if your dog maybe having similar episodes as a lot of vets diagnose as epilepsy or partial epilepsy. Which it is not. And medications do not help.#paroxysmal #dyskinesia #canine #dogsoftiktok #cpdawareness #movementdisorder #jackrussell

Do you think it is from food off the floor . What would that be? Last weekend my dog had two long ones . 50 mins and 60 mins . Then two shorter ones. Very similar . We can’t figure out what causes them but did see an holistic vet that told me it could be hormone related. She has them every two months at the end of the month. The cluster she had this last weekend was what the first set two years ago was like. I don’t even let my dog stand up I wrap her tight and make her lie down . I think she panics more when she can’t walk.

Our Pomeranian has the same diagnostic. She has a strict diet, gluten free food (gluten is the main triger), we give her Virbac gluten free. CroniCare with CBD and omega -3

My baby has the same symptoms. I only comfort him and yet don’t know what triggers him. For now I stop flea and tick medication

This has started happening to my Boston Terrier, exactly the same.
Once we've reassured her as you are doing here, she's really sleepy for a while we cuddle and stroke her, within 30 mins or so she's absolutely fine as if nothing happened.

I have a jackrussel and she has this disease. The neurologist diagnostic was exactly the one You discribe: praroxismal dyskinesia. She stops eating grains and we started a treatment whit fenobarbital (a medicine named Gardenal in my country - Brazil) and it’s helping her a lot. Hope your dog be well!
