I would disagree when you speak about short dated options, which is the only place I believe there is profitably without selling options. They of course are way to complex for your avg retail trader.

Depends on the delta of the options, the more ITM the option the more it behaves like a stock. The reason we use it is to capture price moves without expending the capital to buy 100 shares.

I’ve thought about this a lot. Especially around earnings. The tough part is comparing the future gain/loss of stock (de)appreciation vs selling the volatility in a spread or CC. Great content btw

if you refer to the β as a measure of risk then option long calls (especially out of the money) are indeed a levered stock position
