I stingray shuffled in water that was shin height, I got stung and it was the WORST pain of my entire life. I managed to stingray shuffle on top of him and he stung me through the bottom of my foot.

I normally stomp from time to time (after I shuffled the spot) to send more vibrations. My credentials: SD native that surfs and I've never been stung 🤷♀️

It’s not supposed to work like that, they shuffle into the sand so you can’t see them, so when you shuffle onto them they’ll move and you won’t step onto them.

If you step on a stingray and it can’t swim away it will sting in defense if you shuffle and touch it it will scare and swim away since it’s not pinned by a foot to the ground. Hope this helps lol

I don’t think the vibration hypothesis is real. Shuffling into them is better bc fully stepping onto them seems like an attack so they sting you
