Tip from an AZ native: go pick up some boots from a thrift store if you plan to do any amount of hiking out in the desert. And jeans will be well worth any extra heat they add.

You’re lucky to live in a good place for rock hunting. I live down by the gulf coast. No good rock hounding here. We do have beautiful beaches though.
