Please follow me on instagram @Fortheloveof.spice Aloo Gosht Ingredients: 1 kg lamb or mutton pieces 1/2 kg small red potatoes 1 large onion 1 tablespoon garlic paste 1 tablespoon ginger paste 2 medium tomatoes, peeled and blended Whole spices: 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 6 cloves 1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns 2 black cardamom small piece of cassia or cinnamon stick Powdered spices: 1 teaspoon red chili powder 1 teaspoon Kashmiri chili powder 1 teaspoon cumin powder 1 teaspoon coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon turmeric salt to taste 1/2 cup oil 1 teaspoon garam masala 1 teaspoon Kasuri methi cilantro for garnish Instructions: Heat oil in the instant pot, add the whole spices and bloom for just a few seconds. Add sliced onion and sauté until lightly golden, don't brown them as that will make the curry dark. Once the onions are golden, add the meat, ginger & garlic pastes, peeled & blended tomatoes and the powdered spices. Add half cup of water, and set the instant pot on high for 12 minutes. Release pressure and either keep it in the pot or move to a regular pot and cook until all the moisture evaporates. Then add 2-2 1/2 cups water, peeled and halved potatoes. Cover and simmer for 10-16 minutes or until the potatoes are tender. Sprinkle with garam masala, Kasuri methi and chopped cilantro.
