Stop wasting money on vitamin E creams! There are clinical studies that support scar massage and silicone gels/sheets as effective treatments to get rid of hypertrophic scars, surgical scars (like from a c-section) and even to flatten keloids. Try scar massage (1-2 minutes) using a light moisturizer and then applying products that contain silicone, like silicone gels or silicone tape/sheets, and repeating this daily. Silicone sheets should be kept in place for 12 hours. As a dermatologic surgeon, I recommend this method to my patients on a daily basis for their incisions, and this also works for old scars, red scars, hyperpigmented scars & white scars.
