I grew up on a beef farm, our cows were all babied their entire lives (however long that may have been). our steers were hand fed and only had about 5 stressful hours on butcher day

I’m vegetarian but I don’t think eating meat is inherently unethical- if all meat was farmed like this I would probably not be vegetarian! It’s more sustainable and ethical this way

I heard someone say one time that when you raise your own meat the goal is to make their lives clean, comfy and easy with only one bad day. I loved that saying. You did a fantastic job responding

I'm vegetarian but this is actually the most ethical way to eat meat and I think it's good for those who have to have meat in their diet.

I was vegetarian for several years. So many people thought I was stuck up about people eating meat, but I was vegetarian because I didn’t have access to well raised and cared for meat.

Also stressful! A quick dispatch is far better for the bird. And this is coming from someone who has performed both!

Yes! Was having this exact conversation the other day with my family. The key is that it is done respectfully. And our meat in stores there is zero respect for the animals. You keep going girl!

Every now and then when I incubate a new set of chicken I will get atleast one roach back rooster. We have been using the same 2 roosters for about 40 hens so I don’t know if it is a genetic disorder
