#Christmas has always had a special place in Filipino culture. In fact, people say that there are three seasons in the Philippines: #dry season 🌞, #rainy (or wet) season 🌧🌦 and #Christmas season🎄🎁. #Christmas in the Philippines 🇵🇭 starts way before October: as early as September 1st, you will start hearing Christmas carols and the major TV news programs will start their Christmas countdowns. That's why, the Philippines has the world's longest Christmas season, stretching from September 1st to January 6th when the Epiphany (the Feast of the Three Kings, or Christmas for our Eastern Orthodox brothers and sisters) comes around.  Generally in the Filipino culture... when the 'ber' months come, September, October, November, there are already Christmas decorations. There are already Christmas carols in the malls. I often associate the typical Pinoy’s yearning of Christmas with our pleasantry addiction. We try to ignore the negative but nonetheless important aspects of life because we just want to be happy all the time. 😂 #Commercialization had nothing to do with it, since it seems like all the businesses are going along with it. Malls play Christmas carols when September comes around. Television stations start playing Christmastime station idents. Local governments begin putting up annual Christmas decorations, and private homeowners put up dazzling Christmas displays that have become tourist attractions in their own right. It's all cultural. It most likely has to be given our enthusiasm for it.  #Christmas gives us hope; it gives us the opportunity to share our blessings, and it gives us a chance to enjoy the company of friends and family and wish joy upon all of us as the year comes to a close. #Christmas #philippines #Christmastree #decoration #caroling #gifts #childrensday #loveandkindness #happiness
