Fixing a Bent Phone – Will Tony Save the Day (and Your Legs)? In this video, we take on an extraordinary repair challenge: fixing a phone that was bent at a party! A fan admitted that after drinking too much, he managed to bend his phone with his bare hands. After sobering up, he regretted it deeply - especially when his wife told him that if the phone couldn't be repaired, she'd break his legs! Now, he's counting on Tony, our expert repairman, to save both his phone and his legs. We started by disassembling the phone and removing all the cameras. Fortunately, the motherboard wasn't severely deformed, and our initial power supply test showed that it could still power on. However, the display connector was damaged. We used a hot air gun to remove and replace the faulty connector, then connected a known-good screen to test further. Even though the phone powered on, the screen stayed dark, indicating more issues with the motherboard. After testing with a multimeter, we found two signal paths to the main CPU were open due to weak soldering between the layers of the dual-layer motherboard. We carefully separated the layers, cleaned and re-soldered both the upper and lower parts, and reassembled everything. After a second test, the phone booted up successfully, and we restored all functions - except the fingerprint sensor, which needed recalibration. After entering test mode, we recalibrated the fingerprint sensor and confirmed that everything was working properly. Mission accomplished! Watch the full video to see how Tony's expertise saved the day, and the fan's legs, by bringing this phone back to life.
