@ughistory: President Idi Amin reassures Uganda’s Asian community: 1️⃣ Legal Citizenship: All citizenship certificates issued before January 25, 1971, will be respected. 2️⃣ Illegal Certificates: Certificates obtained illegally will be canceled in accordance with the law. 3️⃣ Old Applications: Applications pending before January 25, 1971, are considered void due to prolonged delays (up to 7–8 years). 4️⃣ Future Applications: Fresh applications for Ugandan citizenship will follow new qualifications soon to be announced.
