Cutting fat is a lot easier if you’ve done it a few times already, so I’m not being purposely obtuse when I share my strategy with you. I know it’s hard. This might sound really easy in theory, but applying all of these things into your life is more difficult than you think. You need to go into this with maximum effort on the simple things. Things I didn’t cover: 1. You need to keep protein high (mine is already pretty high) because this helps with retaining the muscle you have in a fat loss phase. 2. Fiber needs to be high because this helps level out blood sugar, improve digestion (so you feel less bloated), and keep you feeling fuller longer. 3. Lifting weights helps creates the stimulus to your body so you don’t start losing muscle in a caloric deficit. 4. You need to be aware of the calories you’re eating. Not just your meals but all the sneaky ones like condiments, drinks, snacks, grazing and oils. 5. Just because it’s “healthy” doesn’t mean it’s low calorie. My mangos and pistachios are a perfect example. 6. Water intake is key because you will slow fat loss with even mild dehydration. Being hydrated can also help with hunger. 7. Fat loss is easier the more muscle you have. 10 lbs might not sound like a lot, but I don’t lose fat easily so I’m going to need to put some real effort into the things I listed. I’m also not trying to get into single digit body fat, because I want to still feel good and the work isn’t really worth the payoff.
