I don't hit my head, it doesn't help. I DO find myself biting my arms and hands, but I keep things to do instead like old jeans I can rip up in a bag in the closet

Im not autistic, but I have adhd and instead of hitting my head I often pull on a giant fist full of my hair or pat the top of my head really fast

as a neurotypical person, I do this when I am distressed. for me its just pure anger and self hatred. I sometimes have black eyes. I expect this is different as Ihad SH tendencies since I was 8-ish
