Only buy one hdmi cable for the other monitor and plug it in the box with the DP(display port) and make sure the box is connected to ur laptop

Get rid of the box. Get a Display port (dp) to thunderbolt cable and connect it to the right side of the laptop for your main monitor. Then connect the other monitor via hdmi to the back of your lap

ideally you should use 2 of the same cables, it might work with 2 different i’m not sure. DP does not carry sound if your monitors have speakers.

Does an hdmi splitter even work? I thought itll just mirror the same exact screen onto both of the hdmi splitter’s outputs

Ok what you need to do *I consulted a professional* go into your settings look at some stuff It’s possible your projection settings are set to “monitor 1 only”
