15 years ago, a passenger airplane crashed into the woods, just behind my house. all just because it had a little ice build-up on it's wings.

Looks normal. Type IV deicing allows snow to shed off as aircraft accelerates. Notice the snow is gone before liftoff. After that, heated leading edges prevent future icing.
