Teacher was wayyyyyy out of line, and Mom's response was brilliant. She used publicly available info and didn't actually do the teacher. It was an extremely effective way of getting her point across.

It would be different if she invited the whole class minus one student, but it was just two kids. Not to mention feeding and entertaining 32 kids is expensive

Inviting the entire class, except one student is in AH move. Inviting only one person from a class is not at all the same.

I think the fact that the kid only picked two other kids says a lot about how he feels about his classmates. He chose, his parents are ok with it why is the teacher not?

I think IF invitations are distributed at school, yes. Invite everyone in the class or that’s rude. But one can privately invite whoever they want otherwise. Teacher was out of line.

Did they hand out the invitations in class? My child's teacher asked at the beginning of the school year that if not all kids in the classroom aren't invited, to hand out invitations privately.

I believe most schools have a policy of if you’re handing out invitations at school, then it needs to go to the whole class. I dont agree with it, but I understand it.
