we need to get over this mindset that everyone needs to be included all the time for everything

Teacher was wayyyyyy out of line, and Mom's response was brilliant. She used publicly available info and didn't actually do the teacher. It was an extremely effective way of getting her point across.

It would be different if she invited the whole class minus one student, but it was just two kids. Not to mention feeding and entertaining 32 kids is expensive

Inviting the entire class, except one student is in AH move. Inviting only one person from a class is not at all the same.

I think the fact that the kid only picked two other kids says a lot about how he feels about his classmates. He chose, his parents are ok with it why is the teacher not?

I think IF invitations are distributed at school, yes. Invite everyone in the class or that’s rude. But one can privately invite whoever they want otherwise. Teacher was out of line.

NTA. Even if she lives in a mansion, you don’t have to invite everyone!

Had no one has a kid in elementary here? They always tell you to invite the whole class. Unless you do the invites OUTSIDE of school

Teacher was beyond out of line! Not everyone can pay that much. These schools need to chill out with that.

it's so strange to invite the whole class to be honest? in my country you just invite your friends and everyone is OK with it

I would understand a teacher intervention if a mom invited 30 out or 32 students in the class, but if someone invites only 2 kids, that’s not something the teacher should’ve had any opinion on

why is it so difficult to understand that people don't need to hide and send invitations. kids also need to understand that people are going to extend invitations in public to others but not them

Did they hand out the invitations in class? My child's teacher asked at the beginning of the school year that if not all kids in the classroom aren't invited, to hand out invitations privately.

ok, the email was totally stalking bullshit. She was out of line but teachers deal with enough without parents stalking them.

I believe most schools have a policy of if you’re handing out invitations at school, then it needs to go to the whole class. I dont agree with it, but I understand it.

The email may have been unhinged, but got her point across 🤷🏼‍♀️like others said, it’s one thing if one person is excluded, or announced to the class rudely only a few people are going to this kid

I can understand requesting not handing out invites during school time unless you invite the whole class, but the teacher was out of line.
