@roncosmeticchemist: Are seed oils bad? Seed oils are refined vegetable oils where the oil comes from the seed of a plant, rather than the fruit itself. Common seed oils include Canola oil, corn oil, sunflower oil Others include cottonseed, soybean, safflower, grapeseed and rice bran oils — have become shorthand for refined plant-based vegetable oils. Commonly used in cooking and baking, they contain high levels of essential fatty acids (called PUFAs or poly unsaturated fats ). Which should be good, right? The issue with seed oils is that they tend to be higher in just Omega-6 fatty acids, and low in the heart and brain healthy Omega-3 fatty acids. And this imbalance may cause inflammation in our bodies.
