CALL 202-224-3121 TO KEEP PUBLIC LANDS IN PUBLIC HANDS 🏔️🌲 these are times that the writers of the outdoor books i’ve read warned us about. they want to take our streams, our rivers, our forests, and our mountains. many of my favorite spots in Oregon (all of the pictures shown above) are eligible for sale to private interests. this can include community development, housing and privatization of land you will no longer have access to - and neither will your following generations. anyone will be able to purchase these lands at fair market sale value via auction or other methods, to which they can do what they please with that land. it’s sad to watch this unfold before our eyes. it’s honestly heartbreaking. the time now is crucial to be vocal about what’s important to you! regardless of what candidate you voted for, I think a large percentage of Americans can agree that our wild places are meant to be kept wild. once it’s sold, it’s gone forever. call your senators. email them. tag them on social media posts. call other states senators!!!! let them know how you feel about these lands you spend time at that are eligible to be sold off to the highest bidder!! If we aren’t vocal enough, the damage done to the natural wonders of not just Oregon, but so many other states will be detrimental to our country. it’s time to say NO to our public lands being sold off.
